Has anyone had experience with trigger replacement or advise on trigger model for a replacement for the 2020 rimfire target rifle?According to the manual you can't adjust below 4.0 lb.

In the American Rifleman article abut the 2020 rimfire is says-

"I knocked out the two pins holding the unit to the receiver and installed a favorite Timney trigger from one of my Model 700s, and it worked just fine."

The Springfield web site says this:

"Remington® 700 Pattern Trigger
Optimized for the .22 caliber action, the Model 700 pattern trigger is factory set at 4.5 lbs. The adjustable trigger can be tuned to your preference and delivers a crisp, clean break. Furthermore, the action is designed to accept many aftermarket 700 pattern triggers for enhanced customization."

The manual says the trigger is factory set at 4.0. The trigger can be adjusted from 4.0 to 5.5 lbs. I would like to reduce trigger pull below 4.0.

Mine, a 2020 Target Model; trigger came 3.5 lbs from factory - tested. Adjusted one time, currently down at 2.65 pounds test pull. Shoots fine, About 300 rounds through it, trying to find most accurate ammo (Remington Subsonic 40gr HP 1050fps, thus far @50yds.) as setting it up as a starter for PRS Rimfire competition. Don't believe everything you read in the manual...

Like, "compatible with Ruger Mags..." NOT. I have 9 assorted Ruger 10 rounders and two Ruger 25 rounders, and several Winchester 10 round rotaries, ALL of which I use in a Winchester Wildcat 22 shooting Steel Challenge, without ANY issues at all, which is 'Ruger Mag compatible'. NONE of my magazines, Ruger and Winchester Ruger Compatible, will lock into this Springfield 2020 Target Rimfire Rifle- NONE. I ordered and copped 2 SF 2020 10 round rotary mags from Bud's, for PRS use, who had the lowest price at the moment $17.49, whilst they had them on-sale and in stock - waiting for 'em.

Rifle came with a black, soft SF embroidered carry-case - that was unexpected treasure.

The 10 round ruger mags is the only ones that they say will work. the 15 and 25 rounders will if you fille down that bar on the back of the mag so they will go up in there. i made them work. but they will fit loosely in a Ruger if you use them for a 10/22 too.

2A Belt Fed; RE" The 10 round ruger mags is the only ones that they say will work."

I have 9 assorted Ruger 10 round rotary magazines - NONE FIT TO LOCK IN, in my new 2020 Target.

I thought about filing down that bar on the 25s, but decided not.
The factory SF Rotary Mag which came with the rifle fits/ejects and works fine.

I emailed SF Customer Support 5 days ago, and there is yet to be a response.

I have only tried one 10 round and it fits in fine but it's the one that came with it. It is a pain to get out, so i bought three 15 rounders and and two 25 rounders before i knew they wouldn't fit. i just looked at them closely and seen what was keeping them from going in and knew that bar had to be filed a little and they all work perfect. but take a little at a time and try it. don't take too much off.

I am of the understanding that some of the 2020 series rifles have the Trigger Tech Field trigger installed in them. I assumed that was the case when I bot the rimfire series. Not. It does have a decent trigger similar to the Field. I adjusted mine from 4 to 2 pounds and she pulled a bit better. For hunting maybe. And while I don't plan to compete with the Anschutz crowd, I think this rifle deserves at least a better trigger for target or bench. I just picked up an Trigger Tech Special with Flat trigger. In PVD black of course.

Will your rifle shoot MOA at 100yds? If not, why would you decide to do a trigger upgrade then? Just want to know your thoughts on this. -/WZ

I've got three 10/22 builds that I've done. On all three, I've used and been more than happy with the Ruger BX triggers. I can and do shoot MOA at 100 yards, testimony to the quality of the replacement parts I've used. Kidd, EGW, Boyd's, Faxon, Athlon glass

Because I'm retired and it makes me happy. My wife, also an NRA instructor enjoys shooting as much as I do, we're having the time of our lives! We appreciate sweet triggers and are convinced that they can make a difference. In addition to SA, we shoot LWRCI's, Geiselle, Sigs and Rugers too!

Retired too brother, 24 years wearing AF blue. Shoot a ton of .22, rifle and handgun, shotgun sports, and just starting to get into .45's.

A navy brat here. Used to shoot skeet, 5 stand and sporting clays with my 12/20 set Beretta Diamond Pigeon and an Aya #2 20 ga. sxs. Now a little speed steel and helping newcomers thru firearms training. For .22’s, we have a pair of Mark IV’s for indoor and my FN 502 and her Sig P322. There’s a Glock in there too lol. My fav piece is a cherry Marlin model 39 Century LTD.

Yeah, I shoot skeet. For 12 GA, call me a whimp, I shoot a 40 year old Remington 1100. Been rebuilt twice, still breaking birds. I also love playing with Ithaca M37's on skeet fields. Great training for my duck hunting. I shoot a Mark IV, the 6.8" Hunter. Love that gun, dead on accurate out to 25 yards indoor. Let my son handle it and he's got one on order now. Superb balance, construction, and ease of maintenance. I had a Mark III till I got so frustrated with the cleaning maintenance and traded it.

Remington made some excellent and reasonably priced firearms back in the day. Yep traded the Mark III also. Had a kid years ago show up at the skeet range with his 870 and put us all to shame lol
