Consolidated B-24 Liberator: Relentless American Bomber

More here in a previous post...

Thanks for this....I keep learning about the B-24. My dad flew 30 missions in them, and I didn't appreciate it enough until after he died.

He fondly told me lots of stories about how he enjoyed flying fighters, but he never talked about flying bombers.

ETA...I just found that the Commemorative Air Force has their B-17 and B-25 at a northern Cal airport this week. I think it's time for my first post-op bike ride. I've ridden in a B-17, but not a B-25.

As a Marine ground-pounder in the Nam, we used to joke about the F-4 and A-4 jockeys who alameda made it back to Da Nang in time for Happy Hour at the club. But thanking them for the bombs on target when we needed them badly. But those who flew over the North and in previous wars risked the possibility of augering in if things went sideways. No foxholes up there! So from someone who trudged through the paddies, a hearty Semper Fi, even to the doggies!
