250 Years of Marine Corps Service Rifles
Great article, enjoyed reading it, thanks!

just over 40 years ago i was going to join the marines...................they couldn't convince me that i would go where (motor pool) i was joining for. iirc i'd be sent to ca for basics as i'm on this side of the mississippi river

I should look into it. Coming from a member of the Marine Corps League it’s always interesting. Too bad the Corps medical me while I was trying to get in.

Good article but some info is off. The latter model Springfields were ALL rifled. The M1 was “self reciprocating😳”? Also, the Vietnam era Marines I know were NOT happy swapping their 14’s for the new Mattel .

They skipped the Krag, which shows me they weren't concerned about the entire history of the service rifles we've used.
A good article, yes, but a complete article, NO.
