300 Blk Out questions

The BO comes in at adequate and if you’re thinking suppressed it’s a pretty good answer. If your on the fence about power might check out the 6mm or 6.5 options (Grendel) or 6ARC. The 6.5G is fairly spicy for a compact light weight option, I like mine.

I have the Ranch rifles in 300 blackout and 7.62x39. I actually prefer the 7.62x39, mine uses the same mags as a mini 30.
Both are equipped with LVPO optics.

Unless you’re shooting suppressed there are a lot of options other than 300 Blackout that will deliver more thump. For hogs are similar I’d want more beans. Hogs are tough. .223 is a very light round for medium sized critters. Good for varmints but down on power for more substantial critters.

. How are the Gen II Americans? Do they take AR mags?
I have one in 350 legend and it takes ar mags. it works. the reason i have it is for straight walled cartridge at deer season. if i was going to buy a bolt gun in the gen 2 for anything i come across as a truck gun i'm getting it in 308.

Hey @Bassbob
Right up your alley today…at PSA ..

I saw it. They had the same deal going a little while ago too.

If I do it though I'm going much higher up the food chain than PSA.
For truck gun I believe PSA makes an adequate choice. Kitted out with a light and optic it will be a major disappointment losing a $1,500-$2,000 arm from a break in. Will hurt less missing a $450-$600 arm.

It would mostly be a house gun. Even so the last thing I factor into any self defense weapon is how much I’m out if I lose it to the cops.
