These are always fun to read! Some are more comical and some make more sense. This 1 makes more sense. As with and bullet of the same weight the smaller diameter will give better results on trajectory and energy at longer distances. The 26cals have had always been at the forefront and it has taken many years for the rest of the calibers too catch up. It started with match bullets, then trickled into hunting applications.
 
Used 308's on a lot of Mule deer and a few elk. Decided I needed to try a 6.5 CM a few years ago. Since then I've only drawn one deer permit and didn't see a deer worth shooting. Have not been elk hunting in about 10 years.
