Not a 1911 design but a really nice all metal framed hammer fired double stack carry pistol to consider is the CZ P-01. It's really light for it's all metal construction and it has an accessory rail under the slide so you could mount a light if you wanted the option.

The P0-1 is also classy as hell!

My 2011/1911 (assuming 2011 means double stacked magazine, newbie here) which I got today and put 50 rounds through. Don’t roast me, I know I suck shooting wise but I’m 62 with bad eyesight, lol. Anyway, 15 yards results, soft recoil imo, love it!

Boy, you bought a great gun! The SAS II UL is on a lot of wishlists. James Reeves from TFBTV hates 1911s but he raves about this one. I like this in two-tone. Congrats. Keep shooting it, those groups will get smaller in no time.

Technically, there is a difference between a double stack 1911 and a 2011, but most just call all double stack 1911s a 2011. But the 2011 was a specific gun created by STI and it was called the 2011. I believe it was discontinued, or the trademark expired or something, on the 2011

BUL Armory has a great selection of double stack 1911s/2011s and they all get very good reviews, as do their normal 1911s.

What about the SA 1911 DS Prodigy? I have a 1911 Ronin which is great, but looking at the Prodigy for more capacity. Up to 26 round mags available.
