Bird strikes also cause a lot of aircraft to crash as well. This video from militaryfighterjet.com shows what happened to an aircraft that was on a training mission involving a UK Royal Air Force crew in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewanon in May in 2004. . The aircraft suffered an engine failure as a result of the bird strike and if you watch the video, you can hear the 2 pilots are trying to re-start the engine. When they realize it is not possible the only option they do have is to eject from the aircraft and leave it in free fall. That’s what the 2 pilots are doing exactly. Capt John Hutt from the Canadian air force and RAF Flt Lt Edward Morris eject moments before the aircraft hits a nearby field. Although it was a close call, both pilots survived the situation.
