A Toad Strangler

Impressive line of storms rolled over us yesterday afternoon. 3" rain in under an hour. We are accustomed to storms and big rains but this was buckets. No damage here, just flooded lower pasture, some erosion in fields. Mother nature cleaning up.

I’m at a campground in Mississippi. Saw heavier/harder rain than I ever remember encountering before in my 73 trips around the sun…HEAVY, windblown rain!

Had close to an inch of slow rain to help start growing what was covered up by sand. I guess I'll see what happens.

Fertilized the trees again and turned on irrigation. Our occasional rain is usually less than 1/4".

You've seen Josey Wales I assume. The scene where they're sneaking through the Indian nation at night and it's raining, where Josey pitches a lean to and the boy dies ? Well as they're riding through the trees if you listen you'll hear Josey say, " It's a real frog strangler". That's the first time I heard the expression.

I grew up with the term " Toad strangler " and other such sayings. As the Crow flies , I now live about 5 and 1/2 miles from where I grew up.
