I walked out this AM with the first feeder. As I was hanging the feeder a male ruby-throat hovered so close by my head I could feel the wing-wash. He remained so until I finished and backed away, then he perched and fueled-up. I'm left wondering how many years he's been a patron at my diner.

Where do you live, first report I have heard of them back might be time for ours to go out.

In each of these pics there is a hummer flying back and forth thru the spray by me.

Took this photo with an old Canon 300mm F2.8 manual focus lens. It was overcast day, low light couldn't get a faster shutter speed than 500/sec at F2.8 aperture. Film was Kodak color neg 400ASA. Used a monopod for support.

Here again made a mistake. The 300 lens was a Nikon not Canon, using a Nikon FM2 SLR camera. Brain sometimes has a tendency to drift a little.
