actually, just cleaned up my reloading bench....reloaded only 300 rounds of 9mm....

4.3 grains, Titegroup, 115 plated RN Berry's bullets, 1.135 OAL...

if i go by the book OAL (Lyman 50th edition) none of my CZ's will shoot them....on another site, someone had said he made his OAL to the 1.135, and all his guns shoot perfectly, so i tried it, it works, i'll keep the 9mm OAL at 1.135.

but the one CONSTANT that bugs the crap outta me...is the lee Pro4000 that i use for 9mm....

dang thing, i ALWAYS have to check powder drop, and seating adjustments.....

compared to the Dillon...

on the Lee, i left "some powder" in the hopper from the last usage months ago, just like the Dillon....and all was fine for the first 20 rounds...then it STOPPED dropping powder...

so i take the plastic container off, and "mixed up" the remaining powder in the metal end where the container sits...

all the powder started dropping again

i mean like what da hell......i NEVER have to do that with the Dillon.

i run a dehumidifier in the basement on humid days....

BOTH presses have covers on them when not in use.......

BOTH presses are filled with Titegroup, but only (say) about 1/2 from the bottom of the plastic container.....



but the absolute annoyance of the Lee NEEDING CONSTANT readjustments is down right BS, over the Dillon....

now too, the all too real possibility of the Berry's bullets being a "hair or two" longer every now and then exists, they are not all the exact same size as mentioned in several other websites.

i get my 45 ACP plated 230 grain, .451 diameter bullets from Everglade Ammo.....

too much variance in the Berrys from one bullet to another..>????

making me think i CONTINUALLY NEED to make adjustments..???

no, sorry, i didn't measure each and every bullet........before reloading.

even when i reloaded lead bullets......it was the same aggravating thing with the Lee......CONTINUALLY readjusting the dies


ALL Lee carbide dies in the Lee press, only a Dillon crimp die in the Dillon, all others are Lee carbide dies.

and why oh why does the Lee powder drop NEED constant adjustment as well, when not in use for several weeks or months at a time..???

and the Dillon...does not...????

You know…wouldn’t have that problem with a single stage press. Slooow, but steady. Or maybe I don’t get out to shoot as often as Youse.

no, this is why instead of taking the sawzall to the Lee, it is now "just a primer/decapping press".......

all i have to do is swith out the decapping dies, and the shell plate, and that lousy Lee Pro-4000 just sits and decapps..

a REAL progessive press, my Dillon 550C, is the work horse.

i'd never recommend a Lee Progressive press, but yet, i'd recommend a Lee single stage one instead.

stay away for any Lee progressive press.......that are ....... y.

my LGS is a bit higher for the same...but he does have sales on them as well

worth it to me, as i have about 3 lbs left of an 8 lbs jug of TiteGroup, and a new 8 lbs container of TiteGroup, and tons of brass, and bullets, in 45 ACP, 38/357, and 45 Colt, on hand, and the 9mm arriving soon.

as well as 10,000 LPP's and currently 3,000 SPP's...(just did my inventory)

at my age...??

i got a lot until i die.....unless i die by friday......then i'd be pizzed off i didn't reload more sooner.

primers are coming down and getting to the point in going to stock back up. My go to primer has always been CCI. In need SP, LPM, LR, and LP and all the Large primers are still 80-90$/1000. I probably have more powder than I will ever use but I would like to have some more 45/70 powder but I think I have maybe 8 pounds of just powder for the 45/70. I would like to load some Hornady leverevalotion but the 45/70 brass has to be shortened for those projectiles. I would also like to load some 500gr 45/70 loads but they will not cycle through my Henry. I’m also interested in Lehigh Denfense Extreme Penitrators bout with then being light for caliber I wonder how they would do on heavy bone. I’ve got probably 500rds of Lyman 250 grain devaster HP cast and gas check crimped on. All I need to do is size and lube them and load them. I have a Lee bottom pour production pot for those HP’s and I have a RCBS bottom pour that I use for the rest of my hard cast bullets. Heat and my back is the only thing stopping me from being in my reloading building load ammo.

i have had good luck with CCI, Remington, and Winchester primers. to me, Federal "seems like" a harder primer, but i still bought them when they were available at the time.

i only buy non-magnum primers, and pistol only, since that's all i reload....no rifles for me, but i would like to have a Henry rifle myself.

I got a really good deal in my Henry. I had built a 556 pistol and had built I had maybe $400 in it and when the last AR craze was going on I traded it for the Henry 45/70. Guy said he had shot less that a box of cartridges through it. I’ve got it set up as a guide gun with a skinner rail and Vortex 1x6 mounted on it. I’ve shot around 300 rds through it I love the rifle.
