Another self-defense shooting in Florida

Hi,

I think that may be a stretch calling it "self defense". It seems "aggressor" did not have a weapon and did not get within 6-8 feet of the shooter. This was over a parking spot. Lord have mercy.

So first it seems obvious but fighting over a parking space seems as silly as trying to save a parking space; but that just me.

Not hearing what was said on both sides and only going on body language, Im not sure I see it as a lethal force event.

It appears the guy in the grey shirt walked away several times but continued to come back, take that for what you will. My guess is it was because of something the "woman" (?) in the white shirt kept saying. tt Claiming the need for lethal force because of a physical threat from a larger opponent doesnt seem to fit in this case as they both look about equal size.

Im assuming Florida is a Stand Your Ground state(?) but again I ask is a parking space really worth a fight
 
I am on the fence with this one. We don't know what the discourse was, but constantly walking toward an armed woman is not the smartest thing in the world to do. He walked away several times, but kept coming back and I would say antagonizing her. I am going to withhold judgement until all the facts come out. Being this is Florida, we will see if the DA decides to file charges against her.

I didnt get the impression he knew she was armed

You need to spend more time in dollar stores , to appreciate that Wal Mart is actually mid level in both merchandise and clientle . :)

The operative factor here is Florida .

Florida Men & Florida Woman , both simultaniously go Full Florida on each other . Unfortunately , the encounter went tragic instead of hilarity .

Met the man once, many years ago in Arkansas where he lived. He was a large man, wore grimy coveralls and a ball cap. Drove what I believe was an F100. Simple man, very routine-driven. Had his breakfast each day at the same diner in Bentonville. You’d never know he was Sam Walton.

I suspect he didn’t expect the America we have today.

His son went on to serve in Vietnam, was a green beret. May even have run some cross border ops with MACV-SOG, though I am not 100% certain of that.
