Another smelly gun

I guy came into the shop today, wanting to trade in a gun. It was a G Force Blade. He was at least smart enough to bring the box; but decided he wanted to keep the high cap (30 round mag) so he replaced it with a 10 round Glock 19 size magazine.

The gun was in OK shape but as soon as I took it out of the box I had a huge urge for Doritos. The gun REEKED of pot. You could smell it from several feet away. I looked in the box to see if he had hid his stash there but it was clear.

I asked the customer if he had a Marijuana Card, which he denied. I told him the gun smelled like marijuana and asked if he hadnt noticed. He said something about using his nephew's book bag to take the gun to the range. Inside I was screaming "liar liar pants on fire".

I gave him a trade in value and told him I was deducting money to de-funk the gun and said honestly I probably wasnt deducting enough. I dont think he was happy and kept saying it was from his nephew's book bag as he left.

Then I went to to find some munchies....

Really!
Pot smoker huh? Was he dumb because his weapon reeked of weed or just the typical product of liberal activism in the American schoolhouse?

Personally I have no more against someone using recreational marijuana than I do against the recreational drinker; both are extremely potent mind altering drugs, and in my opinion nothing stinks as bad as a drunks house.

Putting all that aside, you got a GeForce, cool, and you evidently got a good price, or at least you feel you did.

Myself I just never much cared for GeForce, I don't like the backward swinging Glock style mags, never have. I'm a colt mag guy myself. But now, if you just got it to sell it to another guy just like you bought it off of, for a profit, well, that's different; I mean those are the kinda people that buy those things.

For me, colt patern has a more responsible following 👍

That's interesting. I never considered used firearms having picked up background aroma from where they "Lived" but I guess it's true.

I assigned a laptop to an employee and a couple of days later it came back with the complaint that the keyboard smelled like cigarette smoke. I wanted to tell her that having smoked for the past 40 years or so I was unable to reproduce the problem but since her father was half owner of the company and a close personal friend I hosed it down with Lysol and sent it back.

After that, any time I posted a "For Sale" notice anywhere I added a note that read "Note: I have smoked for 40+ years so if the smell of cigarette smoke is a deal-breaker for you don't bother wasting my time because I'm not going to discount the item."

Thanks for the post! We learn something new, or more importantly we learn how intolerant people are these days, all the time.

Nope he didnt take the offer, which Im glad, there just arent enuf' Doritos to have that hanging on the wall.

ON a side note I totally agree on the Glock Mag issue. Go makes a great pistol and great mags but angled mags dont work in a SMG. SMGs should have mags that go in at a 90 degree angle. Its a body mechanics thing.
