Another trip to the range with the HellCat Pro

Condition1

Operator
I try to do research a gun before I buy or trade for it. Every video or article I watched or read said the HellCat just isn’t that accurate. But as long as I can put 15rds in a fist sized hole I say it’s accurate enough for concealed carry. I took the HellCat for its second range trip the first of the week and put another 100rds through it. I have had no issues it went bang every time I pulled the trigger and extracted and fed the next round. But the trigger is horrible on this pistol minimum of 8 lbs but feels more like 20 pounds when you’re try to shoot a good group. So when I got home I ordered the Apex Tactical Trigger Enhancement Kit. So that means I’ll have to take another trip to the range after installing the trigger. Since the gun is new I’m just putting rds through it and trying for to see just how accurate the gun is. You have to be on your A game to control the recoil on this pistol. Snappy is an understatement. Accuracy is there and the gun works flawlessly. I’ll post 2 targets first one is from the first range trip with 30rds iand second is from the last one. Second target is 15rds. Both at 10yds.

Had a Hellcat about a year ago never could shoot it worth a damn. Pretty sure it was not the gun although like you said the trigger was awful. Anyway traded it for an Sig P-365 Fuse had The Sig Armorer do a trigger job. I'm very happy with it and shoot it pretty well for an old fart.

My interest is piqued with the HCP because it's one of my options for the First Line guns... I don't care for how small it is compared to my Echelons but I could get used to it... I'll have to read up and see about renting one.

Hi,

Going to a red dot optic helped me more than anything before the optic I was shooting a minute of elephant.

I've put optics on a couple of my units, making the transition because of these aging eyes. I'm going to take one more training class with my optic before I start carrying it regularly. Nice work on your part.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I’m surprised I can still shoot halfway decent. I used to go to the range 1-2 times a week but I got older and my eyesight got worse I just about quit going. Then after manufacturers started putting all the pistols out with and optic cut and the optic became cheaper and more reliable I broke down and tried one. I chased the dot for a little while but finally got used to it. I’m enjoying shooting handguns again and going to the range when life will let me. I thought when I retired I would have more time and I do but it’s mainly for doing things for everyone else 😣.

I carry everyday even at work where I’m not supposed to. That’s why the HellCat peeked my interest. I was carrying a Max9 with 12 rd magazines but it’s the same size as the HellCat. I live in a small town but evil is everywhere. I had a gangbanger point a pistol at me one night. I flipped him off and had a few choice words to call him. I’m behind bullet resistant glass. But if caught outside it would have turned out a lot different.

my only issue with my hellcat is my freakish long fingers run out of grip circumference and i tend to wobble if i relax a bit on the grip
if i wear my bowling gloves it helps a good bit
bowling gloves, open fingers velcro and light pad in palm
lifting gloves work well to
