Any Double Rifle enthusiasts here?

I love doubles. Most of mine are SxS's (470NE and 45-70) with one O/U (308). I had a 9.3x74R which was a great gun for anything from Whitetail to Bear. I want a 577NE and a 8 Bore. Im not sure if those will ever happen but I want them. The 308 is for Wild Boar but could be used for pretty much anything
 
Only shotgun & rifle combinations here.

But in-a-fashion with 45/70 & 30/30 Chazel adapters I can have two rifle barrels in those plus the original .308 & 30/06.

I would love to be a double rifle enthusiast, but don’t have the income. They are very interesting though, that’s for sure. For someone of the means, they would be a collecting and shooting world all their own.

Yes they can be pricey but you can find some good prices if you look

DRs are a specialized tool; but so are most weapons. Typically DRs have an intended range of 100m or less and have a practical accuracy of 2-4", so they arent for groundhogs across an open field.. DRs are best when shots are likely to be close as in thick/thicker brush, where a second fast shot might be appreciated (think for Wild Boars or Bear or Afrika's BIG Five). Do you NEED one, no of course not. Are they cool, absolutely YES. Nothing not auto/semi auto has a faster second shot. Will you ever need that? Ever been charged by an angry Boar?

Only one Chazel can fit in a shotgun barrel at a time. They can't nest into each other. And my combo guns already have a suitable rifle chambering.

Neither Chazels' nor the Short Lanes are the old chamber inserts that go into a rifle chamber to convert from one rifle cartridge to another like the old MC Ace outfit (out of business apparently) in AK.

IMO, Chazels are the most practical available ones because they're available in several lengths if you want to fill most of the shotgun barrel length, whereas the Short Lane adapters are minimalistic and up to 8" in length but can be useful.

Since the Chazels are longer if you're wanting to carry one or more depending on your situation, then you have to figure out a way to pack them if you're in the field.
 
And one big advantage I see to them, that no other type offers, is you can have two independent actions and barrels. Designs vary, so its not completely true with some that share mechanical components, but with others its the case. One can fail completely, and you still have a rifle.

YES this is especially true when facing Dangerous game at close range
