Anyone carry TWO?

No, I don’t carry two guns. As to why, I’m a civilian. I’m not looking to be involved in a gun battle with a roving band of jihadists or gangbangers.

I don’t frequent sketchy places. I recognize such places are changing, but I live my life beyond my hacienda at Cooper Orange. I like to think that’s better than having 2 guns.

Sure, crime and shootings are random, but we have stats that demonstrate data trends of such behaviors.

I’m statistically more likely to be the target/victim of an assault or robbery, so that - to me - means extremely close range. Like bad breath range. So I’m prepared with my Colt Agent revolver. It will go boom if stuffed into someone’s guts during a scuffle and not get knocked out of battery like a pistol might.

I also only have 2 fire extinguishers for my ~2400sq ft home. Don’t see the need for one in each room. 🤷🏻‍♂️

If I can't get the job done with one chances are I won't get it done with two.

Gunfights at close quarters are generally decided by the guy who keeps the coolest head. And sometimes you have to expose your person in order to get your rounds on target. It's not easy to learn but it can be necessary to terminate the threat.

If I'm in a truly dangerous locale I might have a carry piece and a PCC or SMG in the vehicle, close at hand. But under normal conditions in low-threat Anytown USA, I'm not going to be armed like I'm going through some gang barrio in Honduras.

Are you planning to reload from the box? Wouldnt a second spare mag be easier to carry?
Can't speak for Onewolf426, I also carry a box of ammo in the car. Reload from the box? Not so much but you never know when you're going to have an impromptu shooting/gab fest at a gravel pit.
Carry two? Ah, NO! One gun, one pocketknife, one zippo, one pipe. Zero 1st aid kits, batons, mace, torniquets, Narcan, plates, etc. etc. etc.

Well THIS thread (sorry for the repeat) came about because we were talking at work (gun shop) about the stuff customers say... and because Ive got an itch to switch to the 1911 world with two Officer Model size guns in a shoulder holster. Working in a "shop", I find Im frequently playing dress up, one day a Colt Single Action, one day a Glock with a Binary, one day a 9'' SxS 12ga in a belt holster, one day, one day....

The flip side of the dress up reasoning, is that as a cop before I retired, I watched the lone street criminal turn into 3's a 4's of thugs approaching folks at the gas pump. Now honestly for that the best weapon seems to me to the gas nozzle. I rather pay for an xtra gallon or two and introduce Mr MS13 to chemistry class of sparks and flammable vapors; BUT the multiple suspects and reduced mag capacity of 1911s has me wunderin' about two guns

Well said.

I have a… I don’t know… call it a thought exercise for everyone.

As you go about your day tomorrow, at random times, ask yourself “If I needed my carry gun right this second, how easily can I get it?”

Do this from the time you get up until you go back to bed. All day long. Think about this while driving to the store, or watching the grandkids at a sporting event, doing yard work, or just sitting at home watching TV all day. Be fair about it, and don’t do things like second guess it by thinking “But why would I need my gun now?”, just do the exercise.

I’ll check back.

Wow.... maybe you need a better lawyer or more experience in how the law works. If youre that scared you might consider moving to a place where thats not an issue
I have a good attorney with plenty experience in self defense litigation, you may be the one that needs a better lawyer 😂.
