P38K project is progressing
The P38K was a purpose built design. It was never just a shortened P1/P38, being closer to the de-cock only P4. There were less than 3000 made. The one in the pics started as a P1 that needed some love. The barrel was shortened to 2.8" and the front sight cut and moved to the slide. Attaching the sight was more of an issue than I expected; but its finally DONE. Now the slide just needs to be blued.
No one makes a P38K specific holster. MASC makes a full size P38 holster but its overly long for the K model. They do however make a P5K holster (above). The P5K is not a direct fit for the P38K but Its a close cousin, just a little bit slimer.
P1 vs P38K-esque The full size barrel is 4.9 inches, while the K is 2.8 inches. The K is only slightly shorter but it feels much more compact. Its a perfect Tuxedo gun

Sorta an aluminum guy. But, I’ve been dallying with polymer and I’m okay with that, striker fire however I simply can’t get the appeal.
