Anyhoo. I look at frames as part of mission set. What is the purpose of this firearm. EDC concealed, then it's hard to argue with a poly frame micro nine (Hellcat). I had a problem with my pinky floating but an extended magazine fixed that right up but the grip is small so on draw I had some issues getting what felt like a good purchase on the grip. But even though i stretch it out to 35 yards, just in case, I really don't see myself getting into that situation with it, I envision 7 yards or less, like the statistics reflect.
Had the same mindset with my Kimber Tac II pro, but that thing was a boat anchor on my hip for almost a decade.
Then broke down and listened to "1911's don't have the round capacity" argument and carried a CZ75B for three, then went back and forth with the Kimber and the CZ for another two, while silently self-debating "round count vs. favorite pistol."
That's how I settled on a Hellcat. 12 or 13 +1 and small enough to not be printing under a tshirt of a "thin-ish" type of guy. Seems like it weighs as much as my 10 round Wilson 45 ACP mag. Two mags puts me at 27 rounds which is far more than the average Quickie Mart stick up guy. (Unless they are sporting a 30+ Glock stick but that's usually paired with a switch and from what I've seen, the safest place to be is right in front of them when they are shooting.) I'm not looking to get into an extended firefight, just enough protection to tell the other guy that targeting me is a really poor life choice. Majority of all self-defense situations, according to the FBI, isn't some scene out of Heat. But, that type of stuff is what scares the gun-grabbers and makes the gun dealer's boat payment.
But then that"What if" argument creeped into my head, and I started carrying a 10.5 AR pistol in the trunk. Didn't help that a couple of cops got shot in my near vicinity during a traffic stop. After a few years of never leaving the trunk, I felt that having it bang around back there was nothing more than wasted trunk space. So the truck gun went back to being a Glock. I chose that because it's cheap, accurate and if for some reason my pistol "ends up missing from the police inventory" (which I've heard too many stories to make it something not believable) then it's not an issue as big as losing my Kimber, CZ, or a 2K AR pistol.
Again I'm probably not going to get into an extended firefight, lay down suppressive fire or any of that, because, non-combatants, it's going to be up to four shots and either he's done or I am.
So it really comes down to personal preference. So, I enjoy listening to other's preference because it may have me think in another direction. However, the revolver for all it's advantages, that trigger pull, kind of hard to go to that when you've been spoiled by a 2.5 lbs Kimber trigger.
