AOS vs other Prodigy plates…

Getting a DPP plate for my Prodigy…I’ve read the Agency plates can be a little quality-challenged; is it worth a little extra for a Dawson?

I do prefer the AOS U-notch, but I could live with a square…

There weren't many options for plates when I bought my AOS. However, other than it coming loose from the slide once which was remedied with a dab of loctite between slide and plate, I've had no other issues with it. Keep in mind the DPP does not allow for iron sight co-witness, so the rear sight should not be as much of a factor for you.

Unless you swap the front for a taller sight and the Dawson plate matches? I removed the fiber optic from the front sight anyways, it's annoying when trying to acquire the red dot.

Pretty sure I’ve got a tall front sight already?

I tried the included plate (Docter/Hex) with a PA sight that…has issues (likes to turn itself off under recoil) and had no cowitness problems.

Reply. Call Dave Dawson. He’s super nice and will answer any questions you may have. I’ve talked to him several times about suppressor sights. Ask him about his toolless guide rod for the Prodigy.

Dawson is always the choice. Definitely.

Dawson is definitely better quality. If you catch the AOS plates on sale you can find them for around $70ish on Backorder Planet. Otherwise if you are paying the full price, i'd go with the Dawson for sure.

Looks like the Dawson will co-witness, but you'll need to replace the front sight also. Make sure to get the correct plate for the correct barrel size. 4.25" or 5"

So, after consideration…

The DPP is going back on the VP9 it came off; I already put suppressor sights on it, so I’m ordering a threaded barrel and going all-out.

The Prodigy is getting a RMR footprint plate (probably Dawson) and an optic TBD (likely Holosun or Vortex Defenser).
