Anyone know if you can just remove the spring and detent permanently to just have a pin you can remove as needed without going through the BS of capturing the spring and detent, turning it etc.?
The pin would just fall out. I'm sure you could manufacture something if you were so inclined.Anyone know if you can just remove the spring and detent permanently to just have a pin you can remove as needed without going through the BS of capturing the spring and detent, turning it etc.?
I'm not sure why you would need to remove the pivot pin repeatedly. Or at all.![]()
We all do. Why not just push the pivot pin out and pull the upper off ? There's no good reason to remove the pivot pin from the lower.I like to separate upper/lower when cleaning... less cumbersome.
yup, i just push out to remove and push in while cleaning. on some the pins are a pita to push in and/or out depending on make of lower. all get treated the same way, but unsure what makes it a pita thoWe all do. Sometimes it’s easier on some guns if you push the front takedown pin out and swivel the upper all the way up before pushing out the pivot pin.yup, i just push out to remove and push in while cleaning. on some the pins are a pita to push in and/or out depending on make of lower. all get treated the same way, but unsure what makes it a pita tho
I have a PSA 10.5" upper on Spikes lower. Have to release reaward pin and rock upper completely forward before releasing pin to remove upper. That being said, there is minimal resistance to push either pin past detent.Sometimes it’s easier on some guns if you push the front takedown pin out and swivel the upper all the way up before pushing out the pivot pin.
