Since the 37mm on the jeep didn't fare too well, the TD Board still wanted a mobile AT gun and this is how the M8 armored car got its start. I love this story. I was smiling at all the pictures showing "real time" upgrades and the backyard mechanic ingenuity of forward troops. The "one-of-a-kind custom" armor plates at the front are totally GI-I (GI Ingenuity).
