That Man knows his :poop: when it comes to Army Aviation and helicopters !

He does deserve that, but he might not want it. He has over 20 years in and just might want to retire. And I don't know how badly he was wounded, but he might not be able to pass a flight physical anymore. He looks the type who would rather continue flying, than driving a desk. Who knows.
He took 4 rounds (unknown caliber) in his legs (thus the walker) so who knows about his mobility anymore.

It looks like he has ~21 yrs in, so a Commission to fill out his last few years in a worthwhile position, as a MOH recipient would be nice to cap off his career as an Officer.

SALUTE x 100

I think signing up as enlisted then retiring as an officer is an "extra" reflection of an outstanding career, especially since such promotions are very rare now.

With CWO Slovers' accomplishments & now the MOH that would be a nice touch.

BTW - This was enacted late last year.

As of December 2025, living Medal of Honor recipients receive a significantly increased special tax-free pension of $5,625 per month ($67,500 annually), signed into law by the Monetary Enhancement for Distinguished Active Legends (MEDAL) Act. This pension is in addition to any other military retirement or VA benefits.

Key Details on Medal of Honor Special Pension (As of 2026):
  • Monthly Amount: Increased from ~$1,490 to $5,625.
  • Annual Total: Approximately $67,500.
  • Survivors: The pension is generally payable to surviving spouses.
  • Purpose: To provide financial security and cover costs associated with public appearances and travel.
  • Eligibility: Awarded based on receipt of the Medal of Honor, administered by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The legislation, sometimes referred to as the "Medal of Honor Act", ensures these payments are adjusted for inflation
