Using a World War II bolt-action rifle as a standard-issue military weapon today is unfeasible primarily due to cadence deficiency (low rate of fire), anemic ammunition capacity, and incompatibility with modern doctrinal asymmetry in combat

Dr. Google sir, you may have missed a few key elements. It would also be found to be ungainly (as it was back then) in close quarter combat being heavy and long. Also takes longer to find the target with some of those old sights. The ammunition for those old rifles was also larger and heavier, thus less could be usefully carried. Thank you Dr.
