Ayoob: Compact Springfield Echelon 4.0C Review

The compact will quickly become a best seller, think of it the same as a G17 vs a G19 size difference. It has been fun playing legos mixing and matching parts. Like the compact slide with the Floyds Custom Shop comp partially covered by the dust cover. In a year the Echelon series has become a pick your flavor style pistol.

When will we see the 4.0 Comp?

Picked up my 4.0c yesterday from my ffl. Bought through the Springfield first line program as a veteran. Sweet discount for only $519.
Looks great, feels fantastic in my hand. Can't wait to get to the range tomorrow.

I love the whole Echelon series because I can mix and match. My best shooter is a full-size ported slide on the Sharps Bros (compact) bronze metal grip module w/ a Tyrant trigger and Holosun EPS green dot. I will install a comp on a compact threaded barrel and rock the compact slide on the super heavy holster-busting Icarus full-size metal grip module with the gear up Crimson Trace red dot. The 4.0C trigger is good not great; I'll probably get the PRP kit (like I did for my Hellcat Pro EDC- too awesome!) to soften the edges. If that trigger ends up better than the Tyrant, I'll just switch COGs/FCUs! It's so fun to swap around parts.
I don't like how Springfield chunk ports their pistols and calls them comped. Is it just me?
I can't imagine a better EDC until they release a fully ambi 4" Hellcat w/ all the Echelon features. Oh wait, that's the 4.0C...
