As a matter of fact, BHP's were manufactured for a couple of decades in .40 S&W. Apparently someone listened.

FN/Browning had to design the Mk. III BHP in order "barely" handle the ,40 S&W. And still that variant was not a commercial success because the .40 S&W was hard on it. But, the Mk. III did result in the strongest 9mm of the entire BHP series.

Because of it's design and idiosyncracies the only "caliber of consequence" the BHP could be successful with is the 9mm Luger.

Having had a new, Browning P-35, many moons ago, that was traded soon after because of the "Magazine disconnect" trigger, I appreciate Mr. Ayoob's review.

Now having a Springfield SA-35 that will just have to be inherited by my son, I was amazed by how well my issue with the original P-35 was addressed and corrected by the Springfield, SA-35. MECGAR mags were also a problem free enhancement.

The "magazine disconnect" is a very small little part that's easily removed as many have done for decades by those that are knowledgeable about the BHP.

SA did not invent/discover the removal of the magazine disconnect has they allude to in their marketing.

I've considered buying a 4" SA Model.
