North Carolina is just greedy, I know because I live there.

The state takes, and so do the counties, we have two different sales taxes......

Then factor in County, AND City property taxes.

In the County where I live, there's one city that charges better than TWICE the county tax rate, which residents pay, on top of their county taxes........

And the county to the East of mine, they just re-evaluated all property tax values. The re-evaluated tax values jumped 2.5 times what they were valued at last year.............

This is the second time since 2005 that this county has done this. The last time, houses that had been passed down generation to generation, couldn't have their taxes paid by the owners, and the owners had to sell.................
Mostly to damn Yankees moving here to escape high taxes up North.

The State, and most counties don't give a Tinkers damn about the people that live there, we're just a number to have "taxes" extorted from.
