I was the victim of a home invasion robbery many moons ago on Halloween. The doorbell rang, I opened the door holding a bowl of candy, and in they came!

well....we lock the doors, and do not answer.

we can easily go onto the 2nd floor porch and look down......

in the past few years, no one goes around much anymore here

We stopped a few years ago giving out candy. When we first came here we had bunches of kids then it started to dwindle down. The last time we did it we had 2 kids and I had candy until valentines day. Kids don't want to walk around anymore for candy, they want to be driven to some parking lot and stick their filthy hands out the window. Just to make sure I turn the lights off outside so not to be bothered until 10pm. If someone rings the doorbell then, they are not trick or treaters and a surprise they will get.

On holiday I sport the 357 mag. What the heck, its a special occasion.

Why I usually have a revolver and OC on me or in reach even in my house.

And not saying you Model 457 but I don’t deal drugs so that reduces my risk like 80%.

We have been in a country club like subdivision for almost 5 years it’s an older in on the golf course and park and we got a slew of trick or treaters the first few years and my wife loved it. But last couple years they have went to the trunk or treat and tha have a huge Main Street event with businesses.

My concern was folks from all over that bring their kids out to ours the other nice one across the golf course and another place in town. I always am concerned of someone casing something out for later tjan the night of.

We lived in an apartment complex for 13 years.

I mean if there was ever a place where you would expect trick or treaters, because they could hit every unit in the complex and never leave the complex.

But I don't think we ever got a single trick or treater.

I said something to my grandkids actually my great grandkids the other day about going out trick or treating and they looked at me like I was nuts. They had no idea what I was talking about.

I don't think trick or treating is a thing anymore.

I certainly can't imagine anybody wasting their time out here where the houses are a half a mile apart

We usually get between 50 and 80 kids. It’s been dwindling lately though. Lots of LE in the neighborhood, and…I have my “tools” staged where they need to be.

At the old place I'd get 150-200 kids, with the parents driving kids around.

Not so much at the new place/location.

Hi,

I hope you all enjoy the fall festivals. My little town is very organized. Trick or treating happens only between the hours of 5pm and 7:30pm on Oct 31. We usually set up a table at the end of the driveway to pass out candy. We don't get a lot of kids but I get to meet some of the parents in the neighborhood. I usually dress up as a starving musician.

OR, the kids say “ if this guy can only afford a Hy Point, image what candy he can afford to hand out. Let’s just go to the next house and skip this poor unfortunate ”
