Hi JJ,
Sorry to hear your google died. Mine produced this answer in about 2 seconds:
Here's a simplified reference guide to figure out which frame your Colt revolver has. This is useful for finding spare parts or purchasing grips that will fit your gun. I'm not sure if a post like this exists yet, but I've enjoyed this resource, so I thought I'd share it here for new users to...

The New Python is supposed to use the same grips as the original. If that chart doesn't answer any other question you might have, feel free to ask.
Re your new Charter grips, They look great and I have no doubt they feel great and even help you shoot better. However, they substantially increase the size of the gun. I have several Smith K-frame roundbutts and have a number of different grips for them, all of which look and feel great but increase the size of the gun, same situation you're in now. I set one of them up with a simple Tyler T-grip adapter and discovered to my delight that it now felt just as good as any of the other grips, looked even more badass, and the size wasn't increased at all. That could work for you, too, if you intend to carry the thing, and of course you can always bolt on your fancy grips for Range Day. Hope this information is of interest and use to you. Just tryin' to help.
