Bell UH-1 Huey — All American Helicopter

As an Infantry Officer and Advisor in Vietnam iin 1966 & 1967, the Huey was a pure life saver and I will never forget the sound of that helicopter or the positive feelings & thoughts it brings back to my memories. As an Advisor many Hueys we rode in were the white Air America models but they had just as many bullet holes as the US Army versions. My son piloted Hueys in the 1990's and it was one of the major highlights of his 35 year Army career.

Welcome to the forum from South Texas. Never will forget my first mission as a door gunner. Sure I was a little scared but caught myself looking at the faces of the grunts we were dropping off into a possible hot LZ and what lay ahead for them.
