Best scope for my Springfield Armory AR... .308?

If you're not going to hunt with it then i wouldn't think anything with high power is needed, depends how far you want to shoot and what kind of competition you enter. far as home protection i dunno if you're talking about outside the home or inside. it's gonna hurt to bust off a 308 round in a closed environment.

Vortex Venom 1-6. Illuminated, fine for short to mid range stuff. If it's an actually precise rifle and you're going out a ways that's a different story. I haven't found SA ar10s to be very precise at all so don't worry about that. PSA gen 3s beat SA stuff. Get an LPVO that you can snap shoot at 200 and call it a win. pick something else for a rifle for precision competition.

I would run a LPVO. Since you can throw big rounds I would lean into a 1-8 or 1-10 but any of them are pretty solid if you buy something like Vortex, Leupold, Nightforce (really anything proven). I have a 1-4 on a .22 and a 1-6 on a 5.56. I really thing that the 1-8 or higher would do the .308 more justice. Personally.

Greetings and Salutations,

Wondering what's the scope for my .308....im not a hunter, ill use it mostly for range work, competition, and self/ home protection.....thanks

I bid you a hearty welcome to the forum from the Wild Wild Upper Midwest. Once you get your scope sorted, we'd love to see your targets at 100, 200, 300 yards. ;) Thanks for joining us.

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

I am obviously a contrarian here. If it were me,I would put a used Redfield Accu-Trac on your rifle. Same scope, or similar, to the one they used in the Nam. Besides they are neat scopes.
