Best Subsonic 300 Blackout Rounds for Shooting Steel Targets? What’s Your Recommendation?

Hi Everyone, I’m a new forum member but the app doesn’t give me an option to make an original post in the new profile section.

I’m Chris and in North Carolina. Longtime shooter, and my first pistol was the old school Springfield XD .45. However now, I’m mainly an Sig shooter but, I have a Hell Cat Pro- love it.

As for this particular thread, I’m just now getting into a 300 Blackout suppressed SBR rifle [got the stamp for SBR 10.3” but waiting on suppressor stamp]. I have not shot 300 BO before in any configuration.

I’m going to shoot subsonics because of the can but I need some recommendations on types (FMJ, Frangible, other) of 300 Blackout rounds to safely use on steel target plates.

Y’all my people and I appreciate your recommendations!

Depends on what range you want to shoot steel at; you really only need frangibles if you’re going to be shooting at very close range (say, under 50 feet/15 yards).

I’d say a soft point would likely be the best bet, but with subsonics, you should be safe with a FMJ at 50yds and out.
