Big gunfight near Topeka

Bar fights used to be a serious call for LE. I started taking my time to get there, especially since my backup was far away, let the knuckleheads get their aggression out on each other, they'd be exhausted by the time I got there.
In the mid-70s, when the American Indian Movement (AIM), was going strong, we had a couple of Indian bars in Rampart. Put a little firewater down their throats and they were willing to fight anyone. Worst drunks around.

That may be true, but we had more fights in those three bars, than the rest of the division. Not prejudiced but dislike anyone who steps into the street who wants to fight me. Russell Mesns started a whole lot of trouble. And, they CAN NOT handle their liquor.

No kidding as I know it real well and a lot more with the years of law enforcement that I have behind me. There's lot of good tribal members out there and many of them are vets, educators and doctors. I have run across a lot of Caucasian men and women along with trib members who wanted to try me on and didn't fare well. There's good folks in all walks of life and some get handed a dirty dish and can't walk by it. I wish you a good day with many to follow
