Back in the olden days -- the 1990s -- violent crime in America peaked in about 1992, then began a steady, decades-long decline. Aside from a man-made spike thanks to the George Floyd/defund-the-police/"restorative justice" blip in 2020/2021 (which some of us are still dealing with), America hasn't seen crime rates this low in a century outside of a few blue urban enclaves that carefully cultivate their own special environments where crime is actively tolerated, if not encouraged.

So when violent crime rates started to fall after about 1992, people took note of the change in course. One of those people was New York Times reporter Fox Butterfield. In 1997, he wrote an article entitled, Punitive Damages; Crime Keeps On Falling, but Prisons Keep On Filling.

It's what happens when someone on the Left makes a statement that is laughably ludicrous on its face, yet it reveals what the speaker truly believes — no matter how dumb.

 
Just saw today that AOC is the leading contender for Dem pres nod in 28😳. If that’s not enough to convince you the left has lost its collective mind I dunno what is. That bimbo’s dumber than a box of rocks. The communist teachers union and college prof’s took over our schools decades ago and the chickens are coming home to roost. Krushev (sp?) said back in the 50’s that they would take America without firing a shot- that our own children would cause the change. Looks like he was right…

Just like Talarico don't stand a chance neither does she. I will say he has a better chance due to opponent(Paxton) than she does against the field IMO. I also think politics is starting to shift back to a more Centrist position because other than the fringes of both parties I think the populace is growing tired of divide and want/expect results. Elon has a better chance of landing on mars than AOC has on winning the nomination, I think :)

I used to think that way. Then brain dead Biden was elected. He had grifted off the USA for decades, tried to get elected more than once, then he did.
Never say never! The younger generation wholly believes we can do socialism/communism better than any other countries in the world. As the greatest generation die off it becomes a greater reality.

Saw Kamala Harris say that the 28 pres election is a shoe in for the liberals. We shall see.

This-schools have preached “socialism” for decades and young folks want to believe in something for nothing. Communists said decades ago that “ we Will “take” America, not as “communist” because the word is unpalatable to Americans, but as “progressives” or “liberals”, but make no mistake, we Will take it”. The likelihood of that happening increases everyday as more “socialist” programs come into being. The rise of the Social Democrats and their crazy agenda is just the most current. ‘’Twas a time they’d have been in serious trouble as anti American. Now they are rapidly growing a populist's. Makes me glad I’m old. Hate to think what this country will be like in 25 more years-I’ll be long gone but my great grandaughter is going to live in a far different world than we do- and it will NOT be a better one.
