Can u suggest a beginner red dot for my new Taurus TX 22 Compact?

Sorry, but i dont understand all the restrictions about red dots for my new Taurus TX 22 Compact, so I am looking for advice on one to get. Believe its the newest version, just purchased last week. Dont wish to spend a lot, but cant seem to find a fiber optic front site for it (has a nut on bottom; not an allen screw to remove front site). Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Just a simple one, please, nothing too fancy or expensive. Thanks so much (wish I knew more).

I believe it uses the RMSC footprint…lots of options.

While there are cheaper…I’d look at a Vortex Defender CCW. It’s a quality unit, where a lot of the cheaper stuff…isn’t.

I run a Defender on my FN502 .22, and it’s a great optic.

I’d also consider a Sig Romeo Zero.

And I believe your front sight is a Glock-pattern front sight…so anything that’ll work on a Glock (there are legion) will work for you.

I've got a Holosun 507K with an ACSS Vulcan reticle in green on mine. Love it. Green works best with my astigmatism - but red may be better for your eyes - ????? No plate needed - easy to mount -

......I installed a set of these on a full size TX 22LR (I have since sold that firearm)

These were very nice - height should work with the dot -

They do have just a fiber optic front sight available as well - however, I believe it is too low to use with the dot.

Only reason I didn’t mention them was price; I think a Vortex Defender will do just as well for $50-100 less…

But it’s definitely a great optic; I put a 507 on my Prodigy and love it.
I’m looking into them. I know it’s probably made in China, like the Holosuns, but unlike Holosun, Vortex is a US company, not a Chinese company.
