I’d like to find a G48 shoulder holster, what is your recommendation?I have a shoulder holster for each of my carry guns. Depending on weather and or political environment it can be a g48 or a sig226.

Pocket carry a small and light J-frame or one of the newer higher-capacity micro 380 ACPs or 9mm's. The other option is to carry OWB with a pancake leather holster and a cover garment (jacket, coat, or untucked shirt).I intend to lose weight, but how do y’all carry with a muffin top? I’m quite uncomfortable carrying, even with a quality holster, as the leather and grip rub against my skin and press in deep. Maybe over the winter I can lose some weight and for the meantime carry a revolver in a shoulder holster?
Dang…you are a better man than I am…Gunga Din!This is great information and very good advice. You can over work your heart which is what I did according to my doctor's as I was a workaholic and it took a toll. When I got out of the military I was 185,after a few years of being a logger then ran a ranch in the high country which every one knows is long hours.when I came back into civilization I went to work as a shear operator and cut 20 foot sheets of steel from 12 gauge upto half inch plate. Then. t he company sold so I went to work at a foundry. Then an electrician and a weekend fighter. My best friend said Sheriff needed deputies so that started my law enforcement career. I worked for several different out and last one was federal was when I had my first heart attack and died but CPR I was revived spent a month in ICU then 3 weeks in transcare. That's when I became disabled as I suffer from SCA . For over a year I sat around the house when I received a call to be a training officer for security teams. I did that for a few years then started dragging and I retired and then I died my third time and my wife did CPR and saved m. We sold our place and left the hot country. After we arrived my new heart doctor said if you don't get a dual defibrillator your going to die again so I have one,the doctor said don't try to go back to work because you won't survive. In 2017 my wife came down with pneumonia and was put on oxygen so I became her caretaker. I have had some minor attacks but hanging on. I am told that they don't see why I am still up right but the 5 stents and the dual defibrillator and the fault lies with over work. I am holding study at 175 to 180 at 5ft eleven. My mobility is painful and I still get up early ( 4:30am) one hour power nap of one hour at 4 in the afternoon and go bed at 10:30 toe eleven. My morning work out runs one and a half. I am the cook house keeper and caretaker and doctor says they say my heart is a mess but I have to take care of my wife.
I use versa carry and when it's 110 outside Barsony. Minor mods may be needed for body type but the $50 Barsony is really comfortable.I’d like to find a G48 shoulder holster, what is your recommendation?
I have an Alein Gear seat holster set up in my truck. I have shells for my SA XDs .45, my Hellcat RDP, my HK VP9SK, and now set up for my current EDC, a J-Frame S&W .357. I carry my J-frame in a sticky holster in my shorts pocket, and once inside my truck, pull my sticky holster from my pocket and put the pistol in the seat holster. Reverse procedure for when I get to my destination. The seat holster can be used as a paddle holster also, but I just leave it in place, as I carry with a sticky holster in my pocket. The seat holster has adjustable retention, so the pistol is not going to fly out in an accident. I can do the holster transfer inside my truck, without anyone seeing what I am doing. The one thing I don't know is if Alein Gear still sells the seat holsters anymore. This older picture is with my Hellcat.I am 100% OWB with quality belt. Mix between kydex and leather.
Could I stand to loose a few pounds? Who can’t?
Not to derail the thread, but what about carry in your vehicle?
I am right handed, but dang if keeping your CCW holstered while you drive is my personal dilemma. Uncomfortable is just the beginning. Access? Fogettaboutit!
I take out my holstered pistola and stick it between the seat and center console of my F150. Easy, right?
What if I’m in an accident and it goes flying somewhere in the car? Think about your cell phone.
I have seen these magnets and under-the-dash holsters, but how really well do they work? I don’t want to be scrambling for my CCW and these solutions just don’t seem to make sense, especially when you’re strapped in.
What’s a fella to do in order to be ready and defensible in his chariot? Looking forward to your experiences and opinions.
Haven’t lost the weight yet, but I now have a home gym. That should help me lose a bit of weight. To hell with the style of holsters...the bigger question is how did you go about losing the weight? I could stand to drop 30lbs.
Do those injection pens ads on the tube really work to kick start the old metabolism?
A friend of mine is on one of those drugs. He has lost about 75 lbs. But his BMI (Body Mass Index) showed that he was considered obese. While he is not a diabetic, his doctor felt his weight might be considered life threating. You and your doctor should discuss it about your case. If you are a small guy, 30 lbs. over might consider you obese. If you are a big, tall guy, 30 lbs. just might mean you are a little chubby. Find out what your ideal weight should be for your age and height and figure out what your BMI is.To hell with the style of holsters...the bigger question is how did you go about losing the weight? Do you have to change eating habits?I've been taking the shots, first Ozempic and now switched to Mounjaro (sp?) both on doc's orders for diabetes. Side effect (benefit) is losing weight. So far 62# in a couple of years. Some more coming off since the changeover. Yeah, they work.
I’m average height, but the GLPs might cause pancreatic cancer, so I’m going to lose weight by working out again.A friend of mine is on one of those drugs. He has lost about 75 lbs.
