The days of bringing back "originals" are over unless there's regime change in Iran which received a lot of M1Gs back in the day.

We'll see how these repro M1Gs turn out.

There has been a lot of debate over this. I think because of people not keeping up on what's happening. As posted above, unless they find more somewhere else, the USGI Garands are gone. CMP is now making reproduction rifles out of parts they have others manufacturing.
