Checking in on the correct replacement full length guide rod for my new Operator / 9mm with a 4.25 inch barrel with the barrel bushing.

Those of you that have replaced the stock GI with a full length, what did you use and what spring weight , 13 lbs? Not using + P ammo just range and 147 HST for carry.
Thanks

I would probably look at EGW ones. Think they make them that come with spring and keeper. A good place to start with is whatever spring rate the gun came with and go from there.

Full length guide rods are mostly used in guns with bull barrels.
In my guns I have never replaced one for another. Never saw the need.

Why? SA customer service should be able to advise you. Otherwise I would default to Wilson Combat

12 lbs is the factory weight for a 9mm 1911.
1911 .45 uses 16lb
1911 10mm uses 18.5 lb

Same here, use Wilson Combat full length guide rods in my Commander & Government 1911 pistols.

Using HST, I wouldn't drop down on the recoil spring or mainspring. They're pretty balanced from the factory.
Contrary, Springfield under powers there 1911 9mm recoil springs, they use 9lb, I had many issue with my RO Operator slide not going fully into battery, called SA up, she said they use 9lb spring, so I took the spring out of my Kimber 1911 9mm and issue was gone, Kimber uses the right 12lb spring.
