ConcealedCarry attire

Why do they have to be mutually exclusive? Unless you wear a lot of spandex/stretchy fabric there’s really no need to change up one’s wardrobe. A good holster is the key. I like a holster with a claw and a wedge. I can conceal a 4.25 2011 with shorts and a t-shirt using a holster like that.

AGREED

I suppose it depends on your daily dress style. A tuckable holster can work with a shirt and tie. An untucked shirt (I prefer with a t shirt under it) can also work. In cooler weather a hoodie is a great cover garment.

When I was "on the job" I would have suits fitted for a pistol and mag pouch.

I do think there are some concealment clothes that scream "SHOOT ME FIRST", particularly the Photographer Vests
 
I have carried a concealed firearm on or off duty every day since 1970. You dress around the gun, whatever it takes. 5.11 has developed some excellent, nondescript options. LA Police gear is another. Nowadays I just throw on a loose fitting shirt or vest when I go out in public. The myth about "shoot me first" clothing us just that, a myth. With so many people running around in pajama pants and their butts hanging out, almost anything goes. Just keep it covered

Sadly yes there does seem to be little standards for dress code nowadays but I still think a guy wearing a "photographer vest" is hiding (albeit poorly) a gun underneath unless hes got a couple SLRs and a camera bag slung around his neck.

There are better vests styles to wear, if thats your choice. If youre wearing slacks and a dress shirt, then a suit vest can work; but again is all about where you are and what you can make look normal
 
I'm not sure what "concealed carry clothing" is, but I think I know what is meant by the phrase.

I just got back from a trip outside of the US last week. I spent time in 3 different international airports. Considering what I have seen people wear last week, and the fact that 90%-plus have their noses buried in their phones, I think no one really notices you carrying concealed. Just my thoughts.

I also agree with the practice of dressing around the firearm. I don't endorse man-purses.

or C33BA03C-8196-44AB-A58B-7161302D7C0D.webp Nope I wear what I want. Around here boots, jeans, ball cap, tee shirt tucked in and a flannel shirt unbuttoned is pretty much standard uniform for farmers, woodsmen, etc. You can conceal much more than a j frame OWB dressed like that.
 
Yep too many faces buried in phones BUT it only takes one (old cop or experienced bad guy) to notice

As far as bags, Im a bit ambivalent. I do see a lot of folks carrying bags. Am I curious when I see an overly long bag (long enough for a folded rifle)-YES but Im no more concerned when I see a guy with a bag than when I see a woman with a purse. Not all bad guys are GUYS

I wear either Duluth Cargos “Dry on the Fly” or jeans, either or replaced if they get faded or worn. If a small firearm, I’ll wear a loose t-shirt, usually without firearm logos/sayings. I will wear subdued USCCA long and short sleeved T’s, or things like Langdon Tactical Technology where most have no idea what it represents. If I’m carrying something big enough it’s only comfortable in an OWB, I’ll wear a button up short or long sleeve shirt in good repair (and does NOT indicate Hawaii or similar). And then there’s the fact that various type holsters, leather, kydex, mix, conceal differently as well. I can conceal anything in a nice leather pancake holster.

Like others have indicated, situational awareness of your usual environment (s) is key. Sometimes it’s not a one size fits all propostion.

X2 on the Duluth Cargos. Since I retired a little over a year ago, I have not worn long pants. Duluth Cargo shorts conceal my J-Frame in a sticky holster very well.
