Country music Icon

Allen Jackson will have his Farewell Concert in June of 2026. He has a incurable disease which effects his balance and ability to walk. He has said its time to be with family. I have been a fan of country for a lot of years and stick with the old country and country blues. I am not a follower of the new country and I don't watch the country music awards anymore because it ain't but to each his own

I completely agree. I grew up on George and Tammy, Waylon, Willie, Johnny and Merle. I still love the old stuff. What they call country music these days is anything but. Its sounds more like bad 80s pop to me.
But I always did like Alan Jackson. He's old school cool. Sad to hear about his sickness. 😞
Well I go way back to Roy Acuff and listening to the Cattle Call riden night herd. Appreciate your comment. There still some good stuff out there.👍🇺🇸

The 90s saw pop music going into the tank. This is about the time CW started filling the void and eventually took the pop music mantle. This is also the time the Nashville CW music establishment started moving to the left with the acts following suit.

Hope you get well Alan.

the other day, i turned on the country music station, and i thought i was listening to a heavy metal, head banging, melt down..

i was like WTF is this crap..??

i never got the so-called musicians name, the NOISE was just too much.

as far as ANY awards shows..??

i don't watch them, the wife will watch the "red carpet" arrivals then change the channel.
