not supposed to be doing much as i cracked my vertebrae and rib about four weeks ago but what the heck. i took the smaller saw to just limb with, was going to come back for the trunk with a larger saw. also forgot my cant hook

All the pics are just limbs, run 5 tanks through it. Then on my last cut this 4 foot timber rattler came out right between my legs. i bout peed myself. lol I didn't even have a gun. man i was kickin myself for leavin the hi point at home. had to use a big stick and it was a job. he like to got away and i danged sure didn't want to have to deal with him again tomorrow.

One of the few things in life I'm afraid of and that's snakes. Glad you didn't get bit. When I was a kid my friends and I were out picking blackberries and I goy whacked by a rattler in the boot. Didn't go through but man that area was sore for a few days afterwards. Thank God my Dad was close by and he dispatched the snake in short order. I think that's why I'm frightened by them.

For me it would depend on the snake. We don't get many rattlers around here. About the only venomous snakes we have in abundance are copperheads and cottonmouths. I have relocated countless copperheads. If you encounter a cottonmouth while you're in the water, your best bet is to get the hell away from it any way you can. They are aggressive. Non venomous snakes I don't kill for any reason. If for some ungodly reason there was a python strangling one of my cats, maybe.

Copperheads are pretty docile and only strike if they are surprised usually. And their bite isn't that bad. At least when I got bit it was no big deal. I understand some people have terrible reactions, but...

Cottonmouths I don't mess with and would not attempt to handle or relocate them.
 
I don't kill non venomous ones, rattlers, copperheads and moccasins die. especially if i have to be or work around them. if i knew for sure they wouldn't bite i would let them live. but they will bite if you get close by accident. i could have stepped on that rattler easily as he was close. i didn't want to have to deal with him tomorrow, might have to his daddy.
