Definitely had to be a DEI hire, as my former boss would say and I quote “dumber then a hoe handle”

And the question was kind of a sandbag .


The Chief , Mayor , and rest of City Gov't didn't know anything until hearing it at the press confrence . It's doubtful that by the time of the D.C. Gov response presser that Pam Bondi had sat down with the Chief and worked out the nuts & bolt details .

Would it be Bondi > Chief > down usual MPD Chain ? Would Bondi shut out Chief entirely , and communicate directly to the Deputy Chiefs ? Will various US AG Designates directly give orders down to the individual District ( station ) and Unit level , bypassing all the Upper Brass ?

The Chief is stupid , but not THAT stupid as she seem . I'm guessing she litterally Did Not Know yet , and just froze when asked .

From administration types to department heads they seem to hire folks that have zero clue on how the world works.

This is also a prime example of example of why I don’t buy into a lot of GOV conspiracy theories. Like I get they (theor folks like this) screw thunbs up but we all have delt with line staff to admin folks at government agencies…..there is. O way I believe those folks screwing up simple things are capable even at higher level alphabet agencies and pull off what some theories some come up with.

No way. So they screw people iver intentionally and through ineptness? YES. But master major conspiracy I have my doubts they could pull that off and keep it quiet!
 
i never supported DEI hires, and never will...i always said, "the most qualified should get the job, UNLESS that person for whatever reason(s), turns it down, then it goes down the line to the next MOST qualified.

DEI hires (to me) are only good for entry level jobs, where an apprenticeship or mentorship program exists, and WORK their way up from the bottom, like any ORDINARY person would have to.

but to simply hire someone under DEI initiatives, to make the woke crowd happy, is a huge NO-NO to me.

I think you’re being too generous. She acted like she’d never heard of “chain of command” period. When you hire people with zero experience or any proven skills, based solely on their sex/race/“orientation” or other meaningless classification this is the BS you get. People (ALL people) should be hired strictly based on Their individual qualifications. Anytime you impose any other qualification you’re getting less than nominal staff and Will get substandard performance.
 
Memphis also suffers from a DEI Police Chief. C.J. Davis. Not near qualified to run a department as big as Memphis. Got the job solely on being a Black woman. Her mistakes already have the city involved in a major law suit as 5 of her elite Scorpion Unit officers are facing both state and federal charges for beating an innocent black man to death and it was all caught on camera.
The Scorpion Unit was her idea and she put them out there without proper supervision. That man's death falls squarely on her shoulders. She should have been fired immediately, yet she still holds office. DEI at its worst. 🤬
