Delta 14 Chassis Gen 2: Maximizing the M1A

I guess I'm just old school, but I do really like the retro look of the walnut stock. However, if I had to carry my rifle around in the truck and have my rifle out in all kinds of weather then the Delta 14 would be the way to go. Great article.

The only "chassis " for the 14 I've ever really liked was the VLTOR. It combined a USGI composite front end, with a pistol grip, and M4 style stock tube which was adjustable for ckeek height, as far as stocks went, any M4 type would fit the milspec tube. And since the tube didn't house a buffer setup, it was capped and used for storage.
I'll post a picture of mine once I find one.

Okay, the bush/scout length rifle started out as a standard Poly-Tech M14.
It was sent to Warbirds Custom Guns in Texas (it has since closed its doors, unfortunately). The SAGE chassis'd Loaded Standard behind it in the first picture is the first new gun I ever bought.

The VLTOR stock setup is truly a wonder, it's a shame they don't make it anymore.

And I like them in original configuration too......

Different strokes for different folks, but rest assured that every M14/M1A stock that has a pistol grip or pistol grip angle benefits from the addition of the USGI M14 EBR trigger shoe. This shoe enhances comfort and accuracy because the M1 and M14/M1A trigger was never intended to be used with a pistol grip, the triggers a designed to work with standard stocks. The USGI shoe is the most cost effective way to modernize the trigger pull. It also works well with standard stocks.
