Sooner or later you've got to wake up to the fact that they're not stupid. They can afford the best researchers money can buy. Do you really think the retired General who was talking about the fully semi-automatic AR-15 didn't know he was talking ********?
They want to disarm you and they are willing to lie to do it.
And in case you haven't figured it out yet, the leftist media is complicit. They know they're lying to you. They continue to do it because they are no longer a news outlet they're a propaganda machine.
I don't remember who it was maybe David Muir I don't know but there was the talking news head that was waving a 30 round AR magazine on TV in New York. Clearly in violation of New York state law. If I remember right Gun Owners of America in the NRA and a couple of other rights organizations raised holy hell and demanded his arrest. I didn't remember if New York bothered to responded but they sure as hell didn't arrest him for clearly violating the law.
Do you remember the episode of whatever news show Katie Couric did where she had the guy that lived in Colorado go buy a gun at a gun show in New Mexico, filmed the whole thing and put video evidence that the guy had deliberately illegally transferred a firearm across state lines (federal felony last I heard) and again, all the gun rights organizations raised hell and nothing happened.
And you still think the leftist government and the leftist news media aren't in bed together?
And we come here and we talk about how dumb the left is and how they don't know anything about guns but they keep managing to get these ever increasingly restrictive gun laws passed.

Welp, sending flowers to a certain occasion for them would be ok.
Well, living in NY I already need to go through a background check to buy ammo at $2.50 a pop 
. Bought 2000 rounds this weekend and waited 45 minutes for the check to go through. A previous time I waited 90 minutes and still no response. I went home and dealer called me 4 hours later telling me I was approved. I have a permit. Why another background check every time I buy? I shoot weekly so I buy at least a case at a time. The criminals don’t buy in NY so who is this impacting? Criminals in NYS get caught with guns and nothing happens with those charges. Until laws are enforced and the SCOTUS acts, it’s only going to get worst!

It's toxic empathy. Taking away rights and freedoms is disguised as safety and caring. Too many people fall for it.
While living in California, I had to pay $1 for a background check even for one box of ammo, even though I had the required Firearms Safety Certificate and a Concealed Carry Permit. I think the fee has gone up since I left. I don't think the bad guys worry about background checks.
Remember to vote, tell your friends to do the same. Contact your legislators, often.

I have family who are actively looking to get out of VA due to the environment. It's a shame because they love their house and their town but feel the politicians have crossed a red line.

We have family in Virginia. We’ve been talking about the current state of affairs, and how guns, ammo and everything else are flying off the shelves of the sporting goods stores there.
They cannot just move, so they are carefully evaluating there options.

In these parts, on the North Dakota side of the river you just walk in and buy it (it’s where we buy most of it). On the Minnesota side, if you buy it from a brick and mortar store they ask for ID. They don’t do anything with it, they just look at it. We buy it online with no problem though. It seems the further west in MN you are, the less “restrictive” it is.

When I was a young teen I could walk into any hardware store, farm store, Sears, J.C. Penney, K-Mart, even a gas station or two, etc., and buy all the ammo I wanted no questions asked. Then Illinois started FOID cards and I got one. It expired when I was in VietNam, and when I came home on leave couldn't even buy a box of shotgun shells to go rabbit hunting. That's when I decided I didn't want to live there.
Very wise decision.

I highly doubt it. Neither my husband nor I look THAT young, lol. I think they just do it because they are supposed to by law, and they do it for everyone. You could be right though. Makes no sense to me, but whatever.
