per the FBI 2020 summary study - the majority of personal attackers are known to the victim. Approximately 73% of sexual assaults and nearly half of violent crimes are committed by someone the victim knows, such as friends, acquaintances, or intimate partners.

While I get your point, it isn't just the FBI stats. DOJ and other repected sources concur - for violent crimes of all types, most victims know or know of (go to work or school with, or live beside) their attackers. There ARE a lot of increases in violence due to foreign nationals and yes many law enforcement agencies are not necessarily sharing all their data. I have seen Dr Lott's and others data as well. A person is likely to be attacked by an acquaintance or neighbor rather than a complete stranger. Facts are stubborn things.
