I retired from LE a few years ago. A local Sheriffs Department used our fireing range. One day they dropped off a case of Hilco gun wipes. You can get them in a single packet or by the tub. This stuff is the closest thing to āmagicā when it comes to cleaning your firearm. The wipes remove any fouling, crud and all the other nasties that you can think of. At the same time it puts down a layer of lube.
Originally designed for machinery, it was quickly found to be a perfect addition to gun cleaning. All the bad stuff stays in the cleaning cloth with no residue on your hands. Just tearing off a small piece of the cloth and running it through the barrel will clean the barrel as good as you could do with a brush and patches.
They work on all my firearms, handguns, rifles and shotguns. They are safe for all finishes and will not damage the stocks on your firearms. I usually buy six or eight tubs of them and they last me a long time. You can even tear on sheet in half and use it to clean two pistols. I gave a few tubs to friends at my local gun club and they couldnāt believe how good the wipes worked on their firearms.
