don't like the 6.5, then get a 7

wondering when this would come around as the 7-08 sorta being king of the short action .473 faces w/.473-.468 base. ya, the 284win is great also for ba's and i've thought about the 284win for an ar, but decided not to use a case with a rebated rim. higher max pressure than the 7-08 w/ shorter case means seating heavier bullets out further for more room of powders. an improved angle (like ackley) would/could be an even more gain. this is just a wildcat for now as hornady isn't making this/these. having the hybrid cases in 277fury (65k max for now) i'd consider necking up to 28cal, but i like having correctly headstamped brass. having brass with a different stamp could keep me from mixing them up?

This-all the newest greatest hot rod cartridges won’t do anything rounds that have been around for ages won’t already do balistically. A 6m5 x 55 Swede or a 7 mmMauser will perform with anybody’s “modern” round. Heck the new .277 Fury gains a (very) few hundred fps over a 7mm-08 or an ancient Swede-BUT it takes almost twice the chamber pressure to do it😊. Laws of physics haven’t changed. The mfgr’s keep coming out with “all new” to keep selling new firearms to those who have to have the “latest”. (Probably the same type folks who stand in line for the next IPhone🙄). The “new” round blossoms, prospers for a short while and the quickly dies, There are a few exceptions (6.5 Creed for one-but only because it fits a shorter action). Go shopping for ammo for any of the numerous WSSM’s, a .30 Super Carry, a .21 Winchester and see what I mean. Folks have been running cartridge guns for 150 years- there’s nothing truly “new” out there.
