Dot vs Circle Dot

Circle dot is ok (ish) inside 10 yds and it gets you in the ballpark. Beyond that the circle dot obscures things. I go with a single dot 3 moa or smaller on all my optics. It’s all about practice. If you practice a lot and develop a good presentation, your dot is going to be there. It’s worth taking a red dot course.

Wondering if any of you have a circle dot optic on a handgun whether inclosed or open styles? Some are selectable of the 3 as some are single choice. Trying to decide on the aimpoint arco or the sig circle dot option? With vortex, holosun, stiner, viridean and a few others that offer an inclosed dot/circle dot as mounting is different between them.

What say you!
Circle dot on my Glock 23, my GLock 19, my AR, my 300 BLK, and a simple dot on my 1911....depends on the gun, what you need it for...I think 10mmLife nailed it, for me the circle-dot makes target acquisition much faster, specially while moving...

But think about it, most pistol circle-dots, the circle is about 32 MOA...but remember that's 16 MOA at 50 yrds, that's 8 MOA at 25 Yrds, and 4 MOA at 12.5 yards....and at 5 to 6 your talking about a 2 inch circle...
