Dress Code

Attire for some is a challenge for concealed carry.
But it really is an art form and you are the artist.
This is not about little 380's or smaller pocket carry.
This concerns larger guns carried IWB.

Let's start with the gun.
I rotate 2 different guns and cc AIWB but any IWB position will work if done correctly. (CSX E series 3.6 and SA EMP 1911) Holsters should have belt claws to draw the gun into your body for best non printing.

Next is clothing.....yes you can conceal the right guns just under a tee shirt, as if working around the house or outside or just cruising on your boat.
Pattern and Printed POLO's or button up shirts work best.
Most styles will work with black, tan, khaki, grey or white pants or shorts.
Newer styles of the Big Island shirts (Hawaiian) are suitable for hot weather wear.

Any of these type shirts (with patterns or prints) will make CC extremely easy and you can go anywhere without anyone taking any notice of you.

OK guys...give it your own twist and go anywhere you want to go without being spotted as carrying.......
Hope this may help one of two having problems with CC and printing........
my wife would not approve of me going with "old man" who cares how I look clothes. ;) :p

Kidding... but semi sort of...... I'm an old man as well.... but wife would still say the clothes thing.
I come home with those and she says "get a refund" . I'll find you some clothes online 🙃 🙃

Understood for sure...but I am retired, gonna be comfortable, and carry everyday everywhere.
And I also could care less what other people think of what I wear. I am the only person I have
to make happy

Dben is spot on. Looking presentable while blending in. And sandals are not appropriate away from the beach. If you can't run or get off the X quickly with your current footwear, call your cordwainer immediately! (OK, I threw that in just to impress Simon) Seriously, get some shoes on! Nobody wants to gaze at your Frito Corn Chip looking toenails.

There are two reasons I don't wear flip-flops anymore. Neuropathy in both feet is one reason. Too many times I would be walking around in the yard and glance down at my feet to discover I had "thrown" a flip-flop. My neuropathy is so bad in my feet, that I couldn't tell I was walking around barefoot after a flip-flop came off my foot. And another big reason I mainly just wear Skechers now is that my orthopedic surgeon told me to. When someone who is considered the best orthopedic surgeon in all of South Texas tells you something, you listen. I do wear my old work boots when I have yard work to do. Again, LONG LIVE THE REBELLION!

Im sure its a location thing; but you never look bad when you look like you are better dressed than a $800 an hour lawyer and.... isnt yard work what you hire people to do? Even when hunting theres dressed and then theres dressed.

I dont have a need anymore but check out Grayman.co They do tailored suits for serious folks. I wish I had one back in the day. Trying to explain to a tailor that he needed to fit over soft body armor and under a holster and mags was sometimes a language issue

Dben looks presentable AND comfortable. You can't make an argument that a T-Shirt and Jeans is the only comfortable way to dress, because believe me a loose button down shirt, even with a collar, and cargo pants are WAY more comfortable than jeans. Wore jeans and a t shirt every day growing up. My point is it does not hurt at all, and in fact helps, if you are comfortable AND look presentable. I have not had a suit and tie job in decades. But when it is time to renew my license, I am clean cut and in a suit and tie in the picture. Give the cop the license and I look like the upstanding tax payer I am, no matter what I am wearing when pulled over. And I have NEVER gotten a ticket. Even when I deserved it! Just saying, appearance matters.

Theres a line in an old movie about the Titanic where just the son is told to change for dinner, tells his father that he is 13 now and asks father if he can start wearing long trousers like adults....again Im sure its a location and activity thing.

During WW2 in North Afrika the Brits wore shorts BUT not after 6pm

OldGrunt, a question. Does your foot doctor think your problems were made worse over the years by wearing flip flops? I have always worn shoes with support because I thought I needed them.
I don't have a foot doctor. The orthopedic surgeon I have did the total knee replacement surgery I had on both knees. He also repaired a torn tendon I had in my shoulder. When I did wear flip-flops, it was just around the house or just out in the yard when we lived in the city. I haven't worn them in years. Severe neuropathy is the only problem I have with my feet. My doctor told me to avoid possible future problems with my feet, to always wear proper shoes. So I do. Even if I still was wearing flip-flops, since moving out to the country would have prevented me from doing that. It's no fun getting a Mesquite thorn threw your shoe!

Hot summer weather attire for some is a challenge for concealed carry.
Winter is easy to conceal many different ways......

I carry my Kuna like this while walking my dog late at night. Single point sling, no brace, tucked up high and honestly easier to rotate out than it is to draw from IWB.

It's nerd-chic and doesn't get a second glance at all.

On a side note I was particularly surprised to see so many men at the Correspondents Dinner not wearing a Tux. It used to be a Black Tie event, (not just a dark suit with a black tie).

It used to be that people dressed for dinner and dressed to get on a plane and just plain dressed to leave the house. What happened to our culture?

Dress code be hanged! What many do not know is the last 5 years of my first career, I was required to wear coats and ties everyday. Whenever I had to travel to Phoenix to see the impotant people (Governor and down, it was suits. I swore I would never dress like that again!

I haven't yet..... 😂 😆 😂
