Echelon 4.0comp The Journey Thus Far

Hello, just wanting to talk about my journey thus far with the Springfield Echelon 4.0 comp. And would like to hear others stories as well.
So a little background, since getting the Echelon, have put close to or over a thousand rounds through it, along with some changes. Also want to point out I am no firearm guru, just your average firearm enthusiast/owner who goes to the range (indoor and outdoor) quite a bit. Have a firm belief in before making any changes/purchases doing extensive research and reviews for safety, reliability, and compatibility. What I’m sharing is my experience/opinion and what I have noticed so far and some people may have had a totally different experience with the echelon or some parts and that’s totally okay. Recently been learning how to do full break downs with pistols and rifles, that’s a whole story for another time. With that being said. I am loving the Echelon!

-Optics, the Viridian RFX11 that comes with the gear pack is garbage though the extra mags are worth it. I myself am newer to owning optics, so I did not know this upon purchasing. But after it failing twice on me and reaching out on forms I learned this. Will say Viridian Costumer support is amazing and will send out replacements no problem for warranty. I ended up getting the Vortex Defender ST, absolutely love it. Though I will say I wish I would have got the enclosed version and may upgrade to this later.

-Grip Module, out of box polymer grip module is amazing! As far as what I’ve experienced and heard from others it definitely doesn’t disappoint. But I wanted to try out the Sharps Bros module for the purpose of helping mitigate recoil and try out an aluminum grip as I have never owned one. And let me say it’s a game changer! And I know it’s a bit pricey but those who are like me are unsure if it’s worth the money, it absolutely is. Noticed quite a difference in helping mitigate recoil. And also it looks amazing as well! Handles great when firing. I went with the Blacked Out Aluminum option. I have heard that the VZ Grips are an amazing option to add, I haven’t done it myself but I may in the future. And lastly I want to note when changing over from the polymer it is a bit tricky to get the cog assembly in the first time, there are videos out there for help showing how to do this. And from what I’ve experienced the more I’ve removed and reattached the cog assembly in place the easier it is getting.

- Parts, from what I’ve noticed there is a far amount of support for parts for the echelon. I purchased the Rook Precision Black Striker Plate with an American Flag, bought this just for pure aesthetics reasons only. Haven’t had any functional issues with this part since I have purchased it.

So definitely enjoying the Springfield Echelon so far. Looking forward to hearing others stories and even tips or tricks about the echelon.

Hi @Cj008rwb,

I appreciate all the thoughts and experiences you've shared. I have the Echelon 4.5F Comp, purchased with the "gear up" deal. I thought the Veridian optic was cheap but got the job done, just a basic red dot, better than nothing. After shooting with it a few times I replaced the optic with a "bang for your buck" Holosun 507C-X2-GRN, which I like the green circle-dot lots better.

I've found when shooting rapidly, the comp helps get the muzzle back on target quicker, but otherwise I don't notice it. I liked this Echelon so much that I bought another, the 5.28" threaded barrel.

It's the same frame, just a longer barrel. I'm sure I'll put an optic on this one in the near future. There's always the possiblilty of a suppressor for this one as well, but I'm not really feeling the necessity. I keep telling myself that these two will be my "competition" pistols once I start my foray into steel challenge or IDPA. I haven't even shot this one yet, been concentrating on others in my collection lately.

Would you mind sharing some pictures of your upgrades?

Thank you for your indulgence,
