Echelon slide lock issues

I have heard there have been some issues with the Echelon's slide not locking back after the last round.

Any information or updates on that issue?
I had that happen a couple times, and every time, it was ME, hitting the Slide Stop with my Strong Hand Thumb, My thumb was too close to the pistol and happened every time I did that. When I adjusted my grip, never happened again.

It happens to us that are 1911 Shooters and are accustomed to riding the Thumb Safety, your thumb WILL hit the Slide Stop on recoil and keep it down.
Yep. I had a bad habit of doing that. Took a lot of dry fire practice plus slow deliberate live fire to build in the muscle memory so my thumbs were down and away from the slide and slide stop. It all goes back to the “Death Grip”.

Thanks all!
When doing Google searches about this type of issue. That's what I heard from pretty much everybody on those searches.

It was the matter of the shooter doing something. One of the biggest issues is having both thumbs straight forward, and the rear thumb touching the slide release causing problems.

I've never been one to place my thumb in that position. So I think I would probably be ok with the Echelon.

I was just trying to make sure it wasn't something to do with the gun itself.

Does it lock back if you shoot it one handed? Is it possible you are riding the slide lock?
I don't have one. I've been thinking about buying one and I have read a few reviews that talked about the slide not locking back after the last shot.

I've got a few semi autos including XD,s. I've never had an issue on any of my semi autos with that.

Oh so like all those guns people buy that shoot low and left because the sights must be off…

I have 6 VP9s and none of them lock back reliably. Because they’re all bad? No, because of my grip I ride the slide lock. Does it impact me whatsoever? Not in the least.

Did all the articles singing the praises of the Echelon not sway you? Just buy one.

Back in the 90's, when I shot USPSA, we used to disable Slide Stops, we didn't want slides to lock back, On purpose.

When IDPSA came about, we needed Slide stops to work,

Hi,

And welcome to the forum. :)

Any information or updates on that issue?

I've had my Echelon 4.5F Comp, oh, a few of months now. I've put at least 700-800 rounds through it, mostly 124 grain S&B and Winchester NATO. I've never had it fail to lock back. I do have a couple of other pistols that I have to take proper care that my "primary" thumb is not covering the slide release. Even with my manly bass player stumps, I haven't caused the slide lock to fail. I have a couple of XD9 pistols that will fail to lock back but it is only because of the aforementioned thumb placement SNAFU.

Which Echelon(s) are you considering. Maybe both? ;)

Thank you for your indulgence,
