You're snapping one part into another. I'm not denying it might have an extra step or two, or take a different direction, I'm saying figuring out how it's done cannot possibly be this hard, especially if you removed it yourself and the COG is made specifically to be interchangeable in frames.

This entire discussion has gone to absurdity. The expectation is that to change grip frames on a gun designed to change grip frames should require sending to the manufacturer each time?

If that's the case, every gun is interchangeable.
 
For everyone wondering, several descriptions of the process for a manual safety are on the internet. Here's one (that goes on to detail the safety delete, but coverers removal and reinstallation with the manual safety intact):

(Step 1 / Pics 1 & 2 here) describe the "more upward" position of the manual safety that's needed to fully seat it.
